I must say that the diet Jeanne Martin tells you to go on to get rid of candida is devastating and meager. One cannot live on vegtables and chicken alone I went on her diet for 3 days before I was so weak and depressed that I couldn't do it anymore.
As I have now read other candida books I recommend them way over this one. However, the one positve is that she led me to some vitamins and supplements that I could take to help with kill the candida as well. Useful info on dealing with chronic systemic yeast infections. Lots of specifics, such as which foods are "bad," which are controversial and how one might deal with them and which are "good.
Some of the assertions might be taken with a grain of salt, and the trick to sticking with a low-yeast diet is to cheat occasionally so one doesn't feel too deprived. I don't think that bit of advice is in this book, but my complementary-medicine-loving MD agrees with me on it!
Lots of good information probably too much actually , but not well organized and repetitive in places. I also found her diet suggestions, while overall good, were really extreme, for example: no microwaves, no leftovers, no plastic containers allowed. Good information about yeast and treatments. Not so sure about her version of the diet though.
