Tcp version 6 uninstall windows vista

I'm willing to give this Registry edit a try but I would rather use a confirmed process rather than some off-the-cuff attempt that works for some but not for others. What I don't need is someone pretending to be a Microsoft Engineer or someone with no know-how giving help that isn't the solution but more of the problem.

I apologize for the snarky comment but I've grown very tired of being led around on wild goose chases on these forums by people who don't have a clue to what's going on but continuously pat themselves on their backs with their impressive Microsoft credentials and useless help from the comfort of their parent's basement.

Jesse and Roxy. Hey everyone, I need help fixing a Windows machine. I use Apples, l I really know nothing about troublshooting Windows, I know how to use it just fine, but thats it. In all honesty, I don't even know if this is a Vista problem, or a hardware problem.

My girlfriend has a 2 year old HP laptop with Vista. She just got Comcast internet. They both worked fine for 2 days. Then 2 nights ago, her machine just shut off for no reason, she booted it back up, and now no internet. My Mac works fine, so I know its not the Airport. I unplugged the Airport, reset the modem, and the HP, plugged it in directly, still no internet.

I plugged the MacBook in directly, works fine. So I isolated it to the HP laptop. The wierd thing is her computer shows full signal, excellent connection, when connected to the Airport, or directly -- it just doesn't work. So, tell me what to look at or check for. Any help is greatly appreciated. This thread is locked.

This method is enabled by default. The Router Advertisement message received by the IPv6 host during router discovery contains a field indicating whether stateful address autoconfiguration should be performed. Typical IPv6 hosts do not need to be manually configured. IPv6 routers do need to be manually configured for IPv6 addresses and routing behavior. You can manually configure IPv6 addresses and other parameters in Windows Vista using the following:.

To manually configure IPv6 settings through the Windows graphical user interface, do the following:. From the Network Connections folder available from Control Panel , right-click the connection or adapter on which you want to manually configure IPv6, and then click Properties. For example, to configure the IPv6 unicast address dbc on the interface named "Local Area Connection" with infinite valid and preferred lifetimes and make the address persistent, you would use the following command.

In IPv6, each interface can have multiple addresses assigned to network and tunneling interfaces intended for different purposes. The original thread starter may use the Report button to request it be reopened but anyone else with a similar issue should start a New Thread.

Good Morning: In-laws just purchased brand new toshiba laptop as well as Netgear wireless router. I am doing the install of their printer, router, etc when I run into a problem. I clearly see internet and wireless access, but am unable to get to the internet and keep getting kicked off.

So i called their internet provider who tells me that, I am blocked by something, checked settings, firewall, everything looks good. Then I do a check and see that there are two versions of TCP installed one is version 4, the other version 6.

I call the provider back and I am told that v4 and v6 are causing the conflict. It is recommended that I uninstall v6 known problems reported but not without calling toshiba first, tried and was put on hold forever, so I thought I would ask here to see if anyone has had the same experience and whether you would recommend that I remove the v6. My wife has a vista laptop, has both the options for IPv4 and v6, and have never had an issue with it. Thank you very much. The growth of the Internet and the ability of Internet backbone routers to maintain large routing tables.

Because of the way in which IPv4 network identifiers IDs have been and are currently allocated, there are regularly over 70, routes in the routing tables of Internet backbone routers. The current IPv4 Internet routing infrastructure is a combination of both flat and hierarchical routing. With more computers and devices using IP, a simpler and more automatic configuration of addresses and other configuration settings that do not rely on the administration of a DHCP infrastructure must be developed.

Private communication over a public medium like the Internet requires encryption services that protect the data that is sent from being viewed or modified in transit. Although a standard now exists for providing security for IPv4 packets known as Internet Protocol security or IPSec , this standard is optional and proprietary solutions are prevalent. The need for better support for real-time delivery of data also known as quality of service [QoS].

IPv6 is intentionally designed for minimal impact on upper and lower layer protocols by avoiding the arbitrary addition of new features. Additional parameters are available for this command. This parameter adds a route for a specific prefix. The time value can be expressed in days, hours, minutes, and seconds for example, 1d2h3m4s.
